There is an elite group of fundraisers who participate in Tour de Cure and we recognize them as Champions to Stop Diabetes. If you raise $1,000 or more you instantly become a Champion to Stop Diabetes. Champions are committed to doing everything they can to Stop Diabetes and are truly the backbone of our fundraising efforts.
When you set a goal to become a Champion, Association staff will not only do everything they can to help you achieve your goal, but they'll recognize and encourage you along the way!
Champions also receive additional perks such as special invitations to elite events, access to Champions perks on the day of the Tour and special custom Tour gear imprinted with the Champions logo.
If you have type 1 or type 2 diabetes, you are a Red Rider (cyclist) or Red Strider (Walker/Runner) and we want to recognize you as the hero of our event! It takes courage to live every day with this difficult disease and we want to celebrate you for thriving with diabetes and signing up to make a difference.
As a Red Strider/Rider we want you to know that you are not alone. There are hundreds of participants who may share a similar story and hundreds more to support you, being a Red Strider/Rider can help you whether you are ready to go for your first mile or you millionth in your fight to live a healthier life. We encourage all participants on the day of the event to yell, "GO RED RIDER!" or GO RED STRIDER!" all day as encouragement to our heroes.
Red Riders and Red Striders also receive special recognition gifts on the day of the Tour (event fundraising minimum must be met) and access for you and your family to the Red Rider tent.
If you raise $500 or more for the Tour de Cure; you qualify to receive commemorative American Diabetes Association apparel such as a Tour jersey or a Rhapsody Hoodie.
