Sunday, November 1, 2009 8:00AM* - Clyde's Ride - LIMITED SUPPORT RIDE

* Don't forget to "fall back" when you set your alarm on Halloween or you'll be quite early!

Come ride the fall version of Clyde\'s ride for 39-100 miles.  Named for our club VP, Clyde Riggs, this ride will take you through Duval and Nassau counties in Florida and into Charlton and Ware counties in Georgia.  Gentle rollers and a gentle steady climb into the swamp will take us to the midpoint of the ride at the Okephenokee swamp, a 438,000 acre peat filled wetland famous for wildlife and bird watching.  Refuel with a made-to-order sandwich at the Swamp deli before heading back. Obviously the return will have a steady descent out of the park and the rollers in reverse The century ride starts at the Imeson end of the Jax Baldwin Rail Trail at 8 am.  First stop is at the park behind the Fire Station in Bryceville (intersection of US-301 and CR 119) and pick up 75-mile riders from there.  Departure from Byrceville is 9 am.  Next stop is St. George (intersection of GA CR 121 and CR 94) where we pick up 39 mile riders.  Departure from St. George is at 10:15 am.  Clyde usually provides SAG and Dennis has usually suprised us with treats along the way.  A beautiful ride overall, it has become a club tradition, usually with great weather, so pencil it in your busy calendars.  For more info, contact Clyde at clyderiggs@msn.com or Larry Clark at rides@nfbc.us
