Tour de Cure

LIFE FREE OF DIABETES LIFE FREE OF DIABETES AND ALL ITS BURDENS

Founded in 1991, Tour de Cure® was established with the objective to fund life-saving research, programs and advocacy and since then has raised more than 312 million. Participation in the Tour provides an opportunity to promote healthy and active living, bending the curve for our diabetes community and working together towards a day where we will all live a life free from the burdens of diabetes.

FUNDRAISING COMMITMENTS

The Tour de Cure is a virtual fundraising event. While there is no fundraising minimum, all participants who raise $100 ( $50 for kids 12 and under) will earn an event shirt. Your engagement is recognized at certain fundraising milestones to congratulate your commitment to the mission. Learn more about our recognition gifts.

FUNDRAISING TIPS

We have outlined the 4 S's to help you meet and exceed your goals. Once registered for the Tour de Cure, you'll receive your own personal fundraising website and you're ready to take off! Participants who actively use their Participant Center and follow the 4 S's raise SIX TIMES more than those who do not!

Set Your Goal

Set a high goal to inspire yourself and your donors to make a bigger impact. What's there to lose? What's there to lose? Nothing, but with a lower goal, you lose the chance to fund even more diabetes research! For inspiration, check out the 2020 Recognition Gifts which are awarded to participants who achieve fundraising milestones!

Share your Story (and post a picture who doesn't love to see your face!)

Share Your Why! Let your potential donors know why you're participating in the Tour de Cure. Consider the following questions when drafting your unique and personal story:

Seek Support

The most successful Tour de Cure participants have one thing in common: they ask as many people for support as possible, in very personal ways. The #1 reason people don't donate is because they were never asked. From the moment you register for the Tour de Cure, it's time to start communicating to your tribe of supporters.

Within your Participant Center you have access to pre-written email templates, links to download the Tour de Cure Mobile app and the ability to start a Facebook Fundraiser! All these tools allow you to seek support from friends and family, classmates, neighbors, colleagues and YOUR SOCIAL NETWORK!

Check out our Fundraising Toolkit for how-to, guides, templates and more to support all your fundraising efforts.

Show up for your diabetes community!

We can't wait to celebrate with you virtually!  Our exciting virtual event day will be engaging, inspiring and keep us connected, while apart. Help us amplify our mission and raise funds to support our critical work.
